ISO 400

Only a little levels and saturation in ps - full frame horiz.

Edit to add: not sure what's going on in the jpeg in the upper right - that splotchiness isn't so bad in the original - I'll try and post a fix.

Went up to the International Crane Foundation on saturday. They have a captive breeding pair of whoopers in a large enclosure. Spent quite some time watching them walk around and do crane things. I know some of you don't like square crops, but when it came time to crop out parts that didn't work, the square was what was left.

I just smashed my finger this sunday, so I won't be posting as much until
I get the bandage off.

Have a good monday,
-matt

I like the shallow DOF here which draws the viewers attention to the foreground bird.

I think the shallow DOF definitely brings attention to the foreground bird but I'm not sure if I like it or not. I think if you could have grabbed both birds (which was probably not possible) it would have been better. Good detail.

Matt, I feel that the image would be so much stronger without the OOF bird.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the finger. I'm not sure the OOF back bird adds anything to the image or not. The light seems a little harsh, what time of day was this taken?

Any opportunity to shoot these guys is a special one. Somehow I'm a little distracted by the second OOF bird but don't worry....I keep coming back to the first one...just amazing. Hope your finger gets better....soon.

Interesting reflection in the back. But I need to agree with the others, this would have been smashing without the second crane.

The DOF throws me off a little on this one. I might back the truck up a little. Steaked in reverse, the solid nature of this would come to bear.
