Very pretty. Taking the shot a couple of seconds earlier or later might have eliminated the brighter reflection in the water.

She's a pretty girl. I really like all the sparkles in her eye. I agree with E.J. about waiting another second. Still the detail and sharpness carries this one very well.

Very nice!!

Beautiful detail, Laura. Sharp as a pin. I love the feathering in disarray at the back side of her head and the beak coloring and texture. Lovely.

Most of the duck images I've ever taken rely on the background reflections working out right. In this case, they don't. But based on the specs and the angle, I think we'll be seeing more images from this location. Based on the shutter speed, ISO and aperture, you were working with too little light. You needed a bit more DOF and I would have been tempted to bring up the flash and take this with flash as main light in this situation. I think the shutter speed left it slightly soft.

Nice closeup. They have already mentioned ways to improve this. Patience is the key with these ducks. Eventually they will relax and give you an alert glance. This one is very sharp and detailed.

Laura,

This is a very nice portrait with excellent use of flash. The background catches my eye a little, but not a big deal. The water drops add some interest to the image.

Pretty head shot Laura. I agree with EJ about the light spot in the BG. Otherwise, very nice shot.
