Dusk swim of canada geese on local pond

My goal here was to use the 2 geese not as subject but just a lower third focal point. The bird positions and composition is really of limited interest but is needed for the foreground. The real subject is the water. I used my Canon 10D on a beanbag with IS from a parked car. I added just a little bit of color saturation and went a little darker on levels.

There is not much originality in this composition-does it at all work?

A nice silhouette the red water works well. I would only ask for a turn of the heads towards you some.

Nice light and great silhouettes, wonderful colors as well, IMO the black uneven top unbalances the image's soft ripples below, a pano excluding the black top would look very nice!!, Still a very nice a serene moody capture!! Congrats!! 8) 8)

These silhouette's have been just beautiful. This is no exception. I also like Alex's suggested pano crop.

I love the red tint to the water. Pano crop idea works for me too. :)

I like the idea of the panoramic crop. I would have preferred having both birds looking and moving in the same direction. Very nice color in that background. I like it a lot.
