Vesa, this is a great shot. I would use a little more USM on the birds. Grea comp and balance.

Awesome background. I love the view from different angles all in one image. Very different and very nice. :)

I like your composition here with the birds looking in all directions. Would it have been possible to use fill flash to open the shadows and counter the side lighting? In any case I like the image as is.

That's cold! Good for you for enduring the elements to get the image. I like the grouping of birds and the detail that shows their soft plumage and bright colors. I tend to agree it could use a touch more USM, but certainly a nice catch. The really fluffed up one on the right is very cute.

I have to agree with Richard here. This is different, and I like it! My only wish might be to see a bit of the hidden face on the foremost bird. I like the little leaf on the rhs of the frame and the way you've managed to capture the waxed tails of all the birds.

Really nice image, good detail and composition. Would have been great if you could have gotten the front bird looking towards the camera.

Vesa,

The one on the right looks like it got most of the berries.

Vesa,

A very nice and different look to it. If the middle foremost bird would have turned the head it would be better. Trying to get four birds to pose is difficult. Well done.

I would have been shaking too much from the cold to take the image. A 2x on the 50-500, I'm impressed. :) Very lovely image.
