Heavily overcast and the bird was to far away for FF for a catchlight.

A fine shot, Harvey. The significant blue cast can easily be corrected. I assume this is a significant crop, because if it were nearly full-frame, flash would likely have provided a catchlight.

The crop is in excess of 50%.

You already answered my question I was going to pose on your flash comment :)

Very good sharpness for this heavy of a crop.

Harvey,

Nice flight shot. I like the wing spread and the way the image appears to be at eye level. I think I would consider moving the Tern just a little higher in ther frame.

Harvey
An excellent flight shot with a nice angle of the bird in the frame. I think it held up very well with the crop.
