Been too busy to turn around of late!

Taken in the Galapagos this summer. I had envisioned a shot like this almost from the time I scheduled my trip - and checked that we would have a full moon. While there were frigate birds everywhere, catching one in close enough proximity to the moon and yet far enough away to get the moon at good size was much more difficult than I imagined. Took me the better part of four days to get this and I'm not entirely pleased with this result. (Guess it's a reason to go back and try again. :) )

Very nice, Rich. Did you attempt to extract information from the shadow area of the bird?

I'd say that you did a pretty good job at getting what you wanted, even if it isn't exactly it. I agree....nice reason to go back. I like it and and am always impressed when people envision what they want to shoot.

Rich,

Difficult shot. If the bird was approaching the moon it would be even better. The halo around the bird detracts.

Oddly enough I was trying to do a similar shot today with a Vulture and the Moon but by the time i was set up the Vulture was gone. Excellent image.

RIchard, The fun in photography is setting goals and trying to attain them. This is one tough assignment you set. You came close but I 'd look forward to trying again.
