Well, it is not a completely black silhouette. And you might be thinking that it's not a planned silhouette but a case of poor metering! Not telling!

Canada goose in flight while we awaited the waves of snow geese at sunset. I used the Caon 10D, ISO 400, Canon 100-400 on a tripod qith IS-2 left on. F5.6. EV metering.

Hi, Jeff! :) This silhouette is neat, I like the rim lit effect. There is one red pixel on the underside (maybe just my monitor?) that I'm trying to figure out what it is...

Of course as we were leaving yesterday afternoon we went right by DCWMA and the field was full of geese getting quite close to the fence. Hope you get to go next weekend, it will probably be quite productive then!

Great to see you again.

Now they made it to the fence? :?: :? :?: Oh well, it was still a fun day.

The image does have a red pixel on the underside. I'd wonder if there is a stuck pixel on your camera. :? I like the rim lighting and the way the legs are highlighted.

I just noticed the red pixel on several of my Dead Creek photos. Looks like the camera might need servicing. Until then, I'll have to clone away!

The only way to get rid of the dead pixel is to replace the sensor - not a cheap proposition but then all 10D's should still be under warranty. I like the shot.
