I'm not sure I like this shot because it's good or because I want it to be good, and I'd like to hear opinions. I saw this group of flamingos walking among the flock in Lake Nakuru and tried to keep them sharp by panning, blurring everything else. EOS 1Ds on panning plate on beanbag, 500mm f4 with 2x, 1/10, f36, ISO 50, long-lens polarizer.

Very neat and very creative! I've seen the behavior and never thought to do anything like this. I would take just the blue off the top.

I think its very good because you have the clump of birds in the center that are sharp while the rest are blurred.

It looks like that the center are standing still and the birds around them are moving rapidly left and right... very interesting effect.

I like the effect too. I think I would do a pano crop taking out most of the lower OOF birds.

This is really good and skillfully done. The center birds in focus and the outer birds blurred is a feat!

I agree about the blue at the top. And yes, the image is worth it.

I like it and it's a neat effect though I may have been inclined to compose it with the walking birds at the bottom of the frame.
