One of the more expressive closeups I got last winter at Santee was this male that seemed to be asking for more cracked corn from the kids that were nearby. This shot barely shows the colorful ring around its neck (on the left side under the bill) that I hope to get more of this winter. Some may remember this one. Cropped 20%.

Ducks always look so happy when they quack. :)

I love the expression. Crop and composition are up to your usual high standard.

Another winner in my book!!

Mike, Great shot. Love the open bill. Looks a little soft around the eye. Great exposure.

Great shot, Mike. Very nice moment, composition, and excellent job getting detail in the blacks and the whites.

I just knew you'd post another duck......now you've put me in a dither for the rest of the day. All I can do right now is scout out possible locations for later. An excellent shot....oh I do love the open bill....he seems so happy. Fantastic detail and a perfect composition.

Mike,

I always like the look of the water droplets on the duck's head. A little teflon hair spray goes a long way :D

Very sweet! I would have liked even a little lower angle, though it is still a gorgeous shot the way it is.
