I took this last Thursday when I met up with some other NWPLI members. There have been many egrets there along with warblers and hawks. I found it hard to isolate just one egret by himself. I liked the reflection and the light reflections in the water.

Canon 10D, 300/2.8 with 2x converter on, 1/1250, F 5.6, ISO 200, The usual in PS.
Comments and critiques always welcome!

Hey Gail, I like the reflections too. I do wish the water was not so dark against a white bird. good job on the exposure. I wished he had turned his head a bit more towards the camera.

Exposure was handled well. I would also prefer a head turn.

Reading the other comments, it might be possible to lighten the water some what. I agree with the others on the head.

I like the dark water myself but do wish for a slight head turn. Very nice Gail!
