These little guys are all over Crane Creek in the spring. I never realized just how long their tails were until I tried photographing them. All comments and suggestions for improvement are welcome. Thanks for looking! :)

Laura,

Nice pose and saturated colors. The BG color works well with the rusty breast color.

Very nice shot. The DOF is just right to get everything in focus. Sharpness and detail are amazing.

Very well done!!

Hi Artie,

>>Hi Red <smile> This one is sweet on all counts. <<

Thanks for the kind comment. :)

Barn Swallows can usually be found in springtime perched on the fence that partially surrounds the small pond across from the Crane Creek Migratory Bird Center. They are usually quite tame and will pose for minutes at a time. However, they rarely land on anything other than washed out fence railing. Goldfinches and Song Sparrows are usually present in the same location and are more likely to pose prettily on the surrounding reeds.

;P

A very cooperative & colorful barn swallow! Very nicely done. Claws really add interest here. I have to admit to curiosity on the perch. I would have thought that you would have a bit more DOF there at f8.

Very nice! Nice and sharp, good DOF, great light and background. The perch isn't the greatest but sometimes we have to take what we are given. Wish it was mine!
