A Brown Goshawk sitting on a fence waiting for us to feed out hay to the sheep and deer. They know the hay attracts mice for the grain and will often wait and survey the area to see if they are lucky. They swoop pretty quickly on the mice if they spot them. They do feed mostly on native mice, birds and insects but come into the farms after christmas when food gets harder to find in the hot summers. This was shot with my old kit the Nikon D7200 with the 160- 600 @ 320, Tamron G2 in January 2022.

F8, 1/500
ISO 500
M HH from Ute.

Excellent capture Kim - impressive detail - sometimes one wonders if new kit is really necessary ;)

Excellent image, with great detail, captured here. Helpful text, as always. ( I have the G1 Tamron, and generally, a very good lens, but not used too much now, with the move to a mirrorless system).

Older equipment still works great in good hands.
