An image from last year- hopefully I can get some again for 2025. I hadn't  seen meadowlarks in many years, but a new location proved quite good.
Nice to do some photography in open country, quite a change from  songbird photography in the forests.

Province of Ontario, Canada, image - July, 2024.
Thanks to everyone for viewing.

Looks to be a bigger bird Paul. The pose and colour are very nice. With that bill and feet looks like it gets bugs and worms to live on.

Great colours and pose. I like the bird looking into the frame.

Wow- lucky you, and a very nice shot! I hear about them here, but I have yet to see one. They are rare.

Great alert pose with head turn, fingers crossed that they will return to your area.

They are about  21 cm. long on average ( 8.5 inches), and feed on insects in their grassland habitat. ( Spring and Summer resident).

What a colourful striking bird. Great pose, eye contact and details.
Nicely done, Paul.
