Same day and spot as the Willow Tit I posted a few days ago.
Forstenrieder Park, south of Munich.

It was about -3 degrees  Celsius, so quite cold for such a little bird. If they don't eat a lot during the day, they are dead the next one.
That was the main reason why I did not move closer. That way, they quickly got used to me and kept on feeding at the bird feeder someone had put up there.

I am still amazed by how good Denoise in LR has become. I do now not mind shooting at ISO 8000 or even up to 12.800 if really necessary. Here a shorter shutter speed might have been enough but they never really hold still, so a longer shutter speed of, say 1/400s, would have resulted in fewer sharp images.

Click on the image for better quality.

Z8, 600TC @840mm, 1/1250s, f5.6, ISO 8000, tripod with flex-shooter pro.
About 40% crop of Original.

Markus, A fine image. Viewed large, the details in the fine feathers is excellent. A minor suggestion and I don't know if it would help, but maybe bring the exposure up just a bit on the background so that the bird is slightly darker than the background. This might help the bird stand out more which, I think, would help the details stand out?

Great fluffed-up pose, details and colors, Markus. Adobe Denoise is really much improved and I used it before DxO updated their software for the R5II. Overall, I still prefer PureRAW, but Denoise is a really good alternative.

Beautiful colors and details, Markus- such a sweet bird, all puffed up! Brrrr- cold out there! Interesting thoughts on Lightroom Denoise. I still use Topaz, but maybe I should try it. Never use LR-only PS Camera Raw. Excellent except for Denoise.
Yours looks perfect to me!

Thanks. I think the Denise in Camera Raw should be the same as in Lightroom. I have not used it from PS but inguess Adobe uses the same algorithms in both.
