This juvenile Ruby-throated Hummingbird, took advantage of this perch, to investigate and feed briefly at a Black & Bloom Salvia, which is the favourite flowering plant to feed at, among many others growing at this location. Somewhat uncommon to see one perched at a plant, as most do not have any parts that provide a stable platform, for support. This Hummingbird displayed some other "poses" briefly, which I can submit another time. Images of Hummingbirds in flight feeding at flowering plants, are generally the goal for those of use who do this type of photography, but is nice sometimes to record something different, for a change.

Great pose and unusual feeding behavior captured, Paul. Looks like a good way to save some energy.

Wonderful catch-so unique and well captured. Love your title too. I'd say that's on clever hummer. :)
