This morning we went for our first outing with our new toy to a local quarry, where a pair of eagle owls usually breed at this time of year.
We were delighted to see that the male was present, even performing a few flybys, or else keep a watchful eye from his perch.
Madam and her brood were nowhere to be seen, but granted the moist cool weather, not totally unexpected.

Thanks for the visit, have a great WE

What a wonderful sighting, great setting and a fine image of this impressive species, Sinuhe. I have only seen them in a rehab centre so just colour me green!

Thank you Carol, we are thrilled to be able to see these wonderful birds - albeit in a working quarry - heaven knows how they bear the noise!

What a great opportunity and I like the setting and composition, too. I hope you will be able to see and photograph the owlets soon.
