CANON 90D
TAMRON 150-600 mm  @ 309mm
F 7.1 @ 1/640
ISO 800

I wanted to include all of the plant in this image, but by doing so it places the subject in the centre of the picture, which of course doesn't make for good composition. Anyway I just thought I might try something different for a change.
The plant is a Lucifer ( Crocosmia ), which flowers for a short time in summer, and has an area for the hummingbirds to perch on, unlike most flowering plants that they like, which don't have a stable perch.  No shortage of flowers to choose here, for this young male !

Province of Ontario, Canada, image - late July

Like what you are showing Paul. Very appealing with all lines leading to the Hummer. Nicely done.

yes, it is busy but I like it, it show us what the bird see's through his's eyes and not what the rules dictate, nicely done on this shot PAUL.

Who follows the 'rules' anyway! I think this is a beautiful image, Paul. The crocosmia stems all lead to the little hummer so perfectly, and for me - in this instance, the end result works so well. I have some of these crocosmia in my garden, they are so pretty - but unfortunately we don't have any hummers.
