Photographed in evening light, it's always a treat to get one with fanned tail.

I am not a 'Wow' person............ but if I was, this would definitely get a 'WOW!' Stunning capture, Axel. Perfection in a frame!

Gorgeous! Every time I see your swallows with a green background I'm doubly impressed at what you can capture. I only try them with blue sky!

Beyond the obvious of this being an outstanding shot, I checked back at your other swallow images and I found one thing to be true. In virtually all of them the Swallow seemed to always have it's head level to the ground no matter how they were contorted at that moment. True acrobats which you continue to catch extremely well.

Interesting observation, Warren. In some of the images I also noticed the insect they went after and how the flight direction and pose change according to that anticipated catch.

I read that Barn Swallows eat about 850 insects per day, quite a bit for such a small bird, but maybe not surprising considering their constant activity.
