Northern Flicker #4

ISO 2000, 1/4000s, F9.0

This image of the Flicker leaving the nest is different in two ways to two similar images I posted prior to the beginning of this series.  The differences are that this image is of the female, and not the male flying from the nest as in the previous two posts.  The other difference is that in this image I was sure the young had hatched and that the Flickers were entering to feed their young.  At this stage they were not yet carrying out fecal sacks but were instead consuming the feces of the very young birds while cleaning the nest during each visit.
