Nice light and beautiful pose of this young adult. I've only encountered them once on a trip to Florida so I was unfamiliar with the look of a young male. My only small nit with the image is the vegetation in front of it's tail is a bit distracting to my eye, otherwise I really like the perch.

Yea, I agree about the vegetation, but sometimes it is what it is.  But I really liked the light on this one.  This is a first year male.  When born, males look exactly like females.  As the young male matures, they begin to get the colors of the male in various places.  In this case, you can see the blue spot on top of the head.  The head area is typically where the colorful male begins to change colors.

Great pose, details and BG. This species is pretty high up on my wishlist.
