After a first look in a new area where I could hear young ones but not see them, success. The 2 owlets were 120 and around 100 feet up in the huge yellow pines. This one came down much lower I'm assuming to be in a better location for Dad to deliver food. The light coming through the forest was at times amazing. The spotlight effect on this one had me clicking away.

The spotlight effect is very nice and well worth waiting for this moment. The overall exposure is very well handled to keep details in the shadow areas. Great eye contact by this young owl.

Beautiful shot, Terry!  I love the setting, and the look in those baby eyes is priceless.  :)

Great find, looks like a tricky setting to get the exposure right.
