I'm not sure why the woodpecker's tongue was sticking out, kind of unusual in flight.

Another fine flight shot with the unusual addition of the tongue being out in flight. As nice as this image is, I prefer your earlier post of this bird with it's wings in the upstroke position. The additional white flash of the under side of the wings I find very striking. Just my taste.
