This ptarmigan photographed during my recent trip to Iceland.  It was obviously snowing.  I love the "eyebrows" and leg up. 7D2 with 100-400. Please click to see full image.

A wonderful photo, Ed, and the raised leg and the red eyebrows, look so good here. The white against the dark background, is an excellent contrast, plus the snow is a fine extra, as well. Certainly worth the long journey to take great photographs, I'm sure !

Great job on the exposure and subject isolation. Red eyebrows are a great accent and nice eye contact.

So handsome in their 'snow coat' plumage, Ed! Lovely shot.

you did good on this one, it's got the feeling of a black and white image, with a plus on the foot lift for action.

Beautiful bird and great capture, I like the walking pose and the red spots add to it.
