A pair of Yellow-eyed Penguins (Megadyptes antipodes) on top of a cliff on the NZ subantarctic Enderby Island. The dark background is the cliff face of the next headland. You can see where they get their name, even if the eyes are a bit orange. The dark plumage of this species is not completely black as in other species.
ISO320, 400mm, f5, 1/1000, by Canon. Working on some old files, captured December 2016. |
