Beautiful light Peter. (when birding, it never seems the lens you are using is ever long enough..LOL). Either way, you have certainly adjusted and mastered that 800, despite this image being a credit to your talent). Main thing, is you getting out there and doing what you love.

Great image, Peter. The 800mm has certainly produced many fine images for you, but of course it is primarily the person behind the camera-lens, that creates the photo, as we know. Still, the extra reach of the 800 has to be a plus when photographing the smaller species.

Beautiful image, Peter. The content, composition - and gorgeous light bringing out such wonderful colour tones, all come together perfectly!

Lovely pose and colors. I know someone who also uses 800 mm and uses it hand held all the time. The 500 was a nice one , I used to like them I and II.

Great light and pose, I particularly like the fanned tail.

Good light and nice pose of this sparrow in his natural habitat.
