This is a "pure" Blue Winged Warbler taken last Spring towards the end of migration. The white wing bars of this bird, with no yellow wash, is a clear indication of this bird probably not having ancestral interaction with a Golden Winged Warbler.  When Cynthia recently posted her nice Blue Wing Warbler image as a way to illustrate the difference between the hybrids and the "pure" birds, she gave me the idea on how best to conclude my brief series on these species. This image of a male Blue Winged Warbler plus an image of a male Golden Winged Warbler that will be posted tomorrow, will end this series of images.   Thanks for the nice comments on all of the Golden Winged/Blue Winged images in the series.

Another little charmer from your wonderful collection, Warren. I admit to being just a little envious of the colourful songbirds that abide/pass through your part of the world - without the efforts of you and some of the other NSN members in posting these lovely images, we would have no idea!

Believe me Carol, I am as envious as anyone when I see some of the images from the other side of the "Pond" and from South America.  Most of my images are confined to the Adirondack area of Upstate, NY with an occasional foray on day trips. Thank you again for your kind thoughts !  WG

Beautiful bird. Beautiful photo. Appreciate the minimal processing. Guessing that the raw file does not look much different.

An outstanding Blue Winged image, Warren. The texts are always interesting, as well.
