Nikon D850, Nikon 500mm F5.6 pf
ISO 500, 1/800s, F5.6 This is a "pure" Blue Winged Warbler taken last Spring towards the end of migration. The white wing bars of this bird, with no yellow wash, is a clear indication of this bird probably not having ancestral interaction with a Golden Winged Warbler. When Cynthia recently posted her nice Blue Wing Warbler image as a way to illustrate the difference between the hybrids and the "pure" birds, she gave me the idea on how best to conclude my brief series on these species. This image of a male Blue Winged Warbler plus an image of a male Golden Winged Warbler that will be posted tomorrow, will end this series of images. Thanks for the nice comments on all of the Golden Winged/Blue Winged images in the series. Please click for higher resolution.
