All.. No great shakes.  Been off work a few days and have been rummaging around the archives, processing and re-visiting.

Took the with some very old kit by todays standards.  Doesn't mean a great deal to me re that, as it's always good to see and be there and saviour the moment.  The metal and glass in your hand not being generally, the main limiting factor.

D300 500 AF-s F4 Nikkor.  1/250 F7.1 ISO 800  (top end for the D300 for me)...

Please feel free to view uncompressed and hope all safe.

I don't care what anyone used to take a photo, I just enjoy seeing the image captured! In this case, you have caught this beautiful little female so well - I love the pose, setting, detail, and all in lovely soft light. A really lovely image, Dave!

Excellent looking back pose, great detail and I mostly like that the bird looks at you so friendly, Dave.

+1.  I agree with Carol's thoughts 100%.  It's not the equipment used to get the image, it's the final result that counts. This is a very nice image for all the reasons Carol related.

The "old " equipment certainly can hold up very well along side to-day's products- as this image shows. Hope you get over your health issue soon, David.

Thank you Todd and Paul.  (no longer have razor blades in my throat, Paul, so thanks for the well wishes)..

The older kit just demonstrates how important it is to just get out there.  Sure, having the latest kit has many plus points, but it's all top end stuff at some point of its life, and no real substitute for being in the field.
