Black-necked Stilt
Gilbert, Arizona
D500, 500mm, 1/500, f/8, ISO1250

Another image from the day she chose to brood her clutch close to me.  The chicks are now 2 weeks old and all 4 are thriving.

Such a sweet picture of the Stilt family. The chick showing is super cute. I counted four set of legs.

How cute is that, thanks for sharing. The little head on its 'pillow' makes it special. Thanks for the smile.

Can't help smiling at this one, Cindy. I love that mother is still able (or at least trying her best) to brood these large chicks and give them all some protection in the warmth of her feathers. The chick we can see clearly trying to sleep standing up, is priceless! Love it!

Carol.

Love the look of a bird with 10 legs. The mother seems so attentive as she rests on her knees to keep her family protected and warm.

Rock-a-bye -baby! How cute is that! She's got her wings full. And on her knees no less. Love her big , watchful eye. Amazing shot!
