R5, RF600f/4, 1.4x, 1/3200s, f/6.3, ISO 1250, manual

I finally decided to get a RF600 f/4 and have been testing it with Swallows and Woodpeckers. So far I like the results and the lens is almost 2 pounds lighter than my first gen 500f/4, which makes it fun to handle.

Well worth the investment, I's say. Nice light and clarity. How terrific to have a lighter 600 than a 500!

A superb capture of the Woodpecker, which is perfectly highlighted by the clean and smooth background.

That's really wonderful. I've found these birds to be exceedingly hard to approach.

Awesome image. My favorite of your recent Red-Headed Woodpecker series. Excellent detail, pose, light and background. Very well done.
