I photographed this pair of Virginia Rails on a mowed path that runs along the edge of a local wetland. It's hard enough finding one of these rails in the open, so when I came across these two, well, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. :)

Remarkable! Whilst guessing they are like our Rails in Europe and hard to get in the open, to find these two Jim, beggars belief and can only say what a fabulous sighting and opportunity taken. Truly, whatever specie, it would appear we are driven by hormones....LOL...

Excellent behavioral image. Looks like you were not the only one unable to pass up an opportunity.

Hard enough to find one of these elusive birds in the open, Jim - to find these two together is amazing, and you made the most of your find with this great capture!

Wow, what an opportunity! Love the low perspective keeping the mowed path nice and soft.
