Few month old Owlet. This guy was very accostumed to people as the nest s/he emerged from was on one of the quads at UNC. Most students are unaware that there have been barred owls nesting in the same spot for over 40 years. These guys are so unwavering that on more than one ocassion they would fly and land not 20 feet away from me.

In the spring, I try to stop by and watch (and photograph) these guys on my way home from work. Its certaintly a good way to relax after a day at the office.

You will probably see some more picts of this owlet parents in the very near future.

Nice picture, it seems to be posing for the camera, 1920 style portraits.
I find the green leaves on the top left corner bit distracting. May be it can be cropped to include less of them.

What a beautiful bird and a great pose. I think I would burn the bright foreground leaves to a similar tonality as the other green parts of the image.

Juan, no idea about the equipment you shoot with, so in that sense I have no advise, I agree the upper leaves should be toned down a bit to balance the lower one, Otherwise a wonderful long portrait of a wonderful bird!!!
Congrats!!! 8)

Juan,

This is just cute. I love how the foilage frames the bird. It would help us to learn more from your great work if you could include the equipment that was used and any techs,

Alan

This is so sweet! Would only tone down the UL leaves; the colors are well-saturated and the overall impression is lush.
