Few month old Owlet. This guy was very accostumed to people as the nest s/he emerged from was on one of the quads at UNC. Most students are unaware that there have been barred owls nesting in the same spot for over 40 years. These guys are so unwavering that on more than one ocassion they would fly and land not 20 feet away from me.
In the spring, I try to stop by and watch (and photograph) these guys on my way home from work. Its certaintly a good way to relax after a day at the office. You will probably see some more picts of this owlet parents in the very near future. |
