Blackpoll Warblers are amongst the last of the Warblers to migrate through our area mostly on their way to breeding grounds in boreal habitat in Canada.  A few, such as this male, stay to breed in suitable habitat in the highest elevations in the northeast US.

Excellent image captured in the open. I had some images this year of this species but the beak was always covered by a twig.

Karl, You must have been shooting in the Adirondacks where virtually every bird has a stick in front of it, lol !!
