You certainly have a fine collection of Warbler images this Spring from Point Pelee, Karl, and this is one of my favourite Warbler species, photographed so well, as the others were. Orange and black is such a striking combination for birds, the Baltimore Oriole, comes to mind here. I was curious if you used a tripod at Pt. Pelee, or if hand held was used ?

Thanks, Paul. All pictures were taken hand held.
I rarely use tripod, it reduces the freedom of movement a lot. For heavier lens like Sony 200-600 I use monopod or shoulder stock.

Your whole collection of images is a Master Class in bird photography, Karl! As with all your other species, this series of warblers is a pleasure to view - and this little beauty is definitely one of my favourites with its glorious colours and markings. Thank you!

Carol.

Interesting setting, I don't think I have seen many warbler images with the bird on the ground.

Thanks, Axel. When they cross Lake Erie during the night mostly, the are tired and hungry. I have seen song bird on the ground and low vegetation at the tip throughout the years but hardly ever especially warblers, seen on the ground anywhere else.

Really beautifully portrayed this Warbler, I love being able to observe the colors of the feathers above his head so clearly.

Gotta love this one- nice to see in the vegetation, and the great display of his gorgeous colors. Top notch!
