Photographed locally, these Mergansers are more skittish than other waterfowl species around here.

I think that's true of Mergansers in general! Pretty little lady, I like the brown tones to the water complementing her head color.

A fine image, as always, Axel, the catch-light stands out here for me, plus the fore-ground and back-ground colours, compliment the Merganser's head and neck tones very well.

Easily the most skittish waterfowl species in NA in my experience. Nice shot.
