Bellbird noisy whirring, fast and direct flight landed onto a beech trunk startling me. They mainly feed on nectar and in beech forests they take honeydew from scale insects by gleaning trunks, Was a joy to watch, reminding me of a UK tree creeper in action :-)

Love your little story- a lively-looking specimen with that bright eye, and almost camouflaged in the moss. Nice capture!

Very interesting looking bird and a cool story to go with it. To my eye, the subject is a little lost in the background, which is equally interesting and has similar colors. Perhaps selectively darkening the background might make the bird pop out more. think placing the bird a little more will enhance the composition.
