You managed to get great color in the gorget and crown, and a really nice stretch pose. I'm not a fan of so much space at the top though, I'd crop most of that off if it was mine.

a very nice detailed shot and overcast is good for getting the true colours without burning any of them.

Beautifully timed to catch this wonderful stretching pose, while the colour and detail is superb in the soft light. I like your use of space around your subject - it suits this tiny bird and doesn't make it look too cramped. Wonderful image, AnnaMaria! Very well done.

Great pose - but in case you think that this is a Ruby-throated Hummer based on title - This is an adult male Anna's Hummingbird
But that takes nothing away from a great photo showing the tail spread

Thank you so much for the clarification. You know….I really thought it was a Anna but I second guessed myself. . I appreciate this so much.

Just for clarification - A Ruby-throated Hummer has a Ruby-throat with a very small black-chin below bill - This sets it apart from the Broad-tailed Hummer which Rose throat extends all way to bill
Big difference with Anna's is the gorget features extend all the way to top of head and give helmeted look - It and the Costa's are only two common US hummers that have this helmeted look
Hope this helps - I live in West Texas and we have about 16 possible species of hummers here
