This Red-browed Finch (Neochmia temporalis) jumped up briefly from the grass onto this perch, and puffed out its chest. That is the grass seed heads you see in the background.

This must be a tiny bird! Very nice perched on the lichen, all puffed out. Love the brilliant colors.

That red eyebrow sure does stand out! Lovely little bird and a nice capture. I like that it is small in the frame, emphasizing that it's a tiny bird.
