Nikon D850, Nikon 500mm F5.6 pf
ISO 800, 1/500s, F6.3

This male Cardinal came out of the thicket during a snow storm in order to get food at a nearby bird feeder. It was a fairly windy day but the area he chose to sit was the closest to some nearby pine trees which somewhat effectively blocked the wind.

Brilliant! I was just reading that cardinals are brighter red in the winter, and this proves it. Beautiful setting.
