Shot it late afternoon shortly before sunset. Fortunately the Sun was covered by light clouds at this moment, otherwise I would have shot right against the sun.

Beautiful setting against my own frustrating bias against human perches. It is probably because I have 4 snowy owls near home now and they spend all day on utility poles, silos, barns, and tractors.   I cant seem to get a ground shot!

Great exposure- a nice perch...as Jeff mentions, most found in the East US are on barns and roof tops, etc. Lucky you!
I like the two little ear-like tufts on her head-don't remember seeing that before.

Beautiful portrait, I love this composition so clean and the light so dull that it brings out all the details of this wonderful Snowy Owl.

nice looking image of this young Snowy Owl in very nice light to bring out it's details. The old rustic perch is nicely enhanced by the just enough moss and lichens to add interest.
