This is a female Peregrine Falcon calling/or screeching at it's mate which was flying fairly close to their nest site. The perch she is on is the remnant of what I believe was a Juniper tree that grew out of the side of a tall cliff where the falcon was nesting.  This is a heavily cropped image taken back in my first year after my switch from film to digital. I wish I had the longer lens and increased megapixel camera of today because it took quite a distance in order to not stress the birds.

Great calling pose, nice perch.
Those old low MP cameras were surprisingly good from Canon, based on some of my images taken with 10D and 500 f 4.0. I think the lens plays more significant role in the picture quality.

Great image quality for web presentation despite the hefty crop you stated ...

This looks terrific at least at this size! Wonderful behavior with the calling pose, and a very nice setting.

Certainly, an excellent image, in all aspects, Warren. Great detail captured in this photo, from an older model DSLR- I'm sure your 300 f 2.8, was a significant factor, in the quality of this image, as well.

Great calling pose. Nicely composed and balanced with that lower part of the perch included.

Love your composition. Great calling pose on the falcon. I like the OOF dark green background and the weathered perch. Well done.
