This handsome Dusky Grouse puts on his best show to impress a nearby female. Springtime in the Colorado Rockies.

Canon 5D MkIV, 100-400mm, Gitzo Tripod & BH-55 Ballhead, all manual settings using spot meter, 1/1250, f8. ISO 800

Great looking image of this grouse's display. My recollection photographing Spruce Grouse is that the fanning of the tail is fairly quick. If that is also the case with the Dusky Grouse you timed it perfectly. Well done.
