This hummingbird  was feeding at a Cardinal Flower, which is a wildflower, that is found in parts of Canada. It blooms late in summer ( August ), for a brief period.  I only saw a male feeding once at these flowers, and for the most part, he seemed rather indifferent to them, so I was fortunate to be able to photograph him.

You obviously had a lot of fun with these little beauties in the summer, Paul - and what a lovely series of images!

Lovely composition, I love the colors and the detail on the hummingbird's head.

Lovely image! The bird's pose is wonderful, and the bright red flowers are attractive.

Nice addition to your hummingbirds in natural light. This one has a great looking background as well. Should definitely click for higher resolution.

Lovely image, Paul. My wife was just working on a image having a male bird on a Cardinal flower as they used to have them at the local Arboretum.
