Brilliant low view Gene. The best bit being the calling pose chosen. Top drawer,

Excellent colors and detail. Open beak is a plus.

Nice shot, and shows that lethal prey catching beak very well, Gene!

Nice perspective for this pleasant portrait. Beautiful colors and lights.

Sweet light really makes that lemon-yellow belly shine. Love the open beak- what a big mouth it has!

Cindy, Kiskadees routinely dive for minnows, frogs, etc.  I'm always surprised at just how lousy they are at fishing.  They get what they're diving for maybe 20% of the time.  Unlike a Kingfisher who almost never misses.  Maybe that's whay they call them the King?

Great low angle and pose, definitely a species I'd like to see someday.
