Waiting for Hoodies on the banks of a lake i was checking on my settings. Seeing the reeds on the far end of the bank i was adjusting settings and took a few test shots - i dropped the shutter speed to get the ISO's in the 2000 range. Suddenly these beauties show up unannounced and it was time to shoot. Noticed my shutter speed was at 1/40secs i left it at that and panned with the bird. In PP  after basic LR edits, applied Topaz DeNOise and the result was very likeable. Hope you like it.

You did a really good work, a very pleasant image to look at, a beautiful point of shot.

David,
Thank you. Wimberly gymbal on a ground pod made it all possible - otherwise holding a 600mm at 1/40sec i need steel gun biceps!!

A fine image Ramesh! Beautiful colours and detail on the drake, excellent eye level perspective and lovely complementary background.

At 1/40 you got a beautiful soft blur in the water-very pleasing. The drake looks reasonably sharp too- a nice watercolor effect.
