Attentive Stare

This is the same Great Grey Owl as posted yesterday a moment before it took off from the branch. He had just woke up in the late afternoon after several hours of sleeping.  Almost immediately he was ready to hunt. In this image some type of prey, probably a vole, had already caught it's attention under the snow pack.
