Took this morning. I have very good hearing and I spotted it by hearing. My wife on the other hand has very good vison (I don't) and she pointed out the bird for me. It should be somewhere South by now, I hope he will make it down.

Very nice image, Karl. Certainly, an uncommon species here in Ontario- it appears that teamwork, paid off for this fine photograph.

Classic pose for a woodpecker. I guess I've never seen a youngster, didn't realize the head color was brown on them! Very pretty shot. Nice teamwork with your wife :)

A great pose as often seen in woodpeckers. Very well captured as the details and exposure are as good as it gets. I have captured the adults several times but never nearly as nice an image of the immature. Terrific background as well.  Congrats on EP.  Well done.
