Brown-hooded Kingfisher

This is the male bird, which has a hungry nest full of hatchlings to feed.  Crickets seem to be his most common catch but lizards, frogs, chameleons and small snakes also feature on the menu.
Taken at George Botanical Gardens, George, Southern Cape, South Africa.
Canon 80D; Tamron 150-600 lens.
f/7.1; 1/1600; ISO-400.
