While on a family vacation to South Carolina, I noticed the amazing colors the water and sky had after the sun set. Unfortunately, there were not many shorebirds where we were staying, but a group of sanderlings flew in on this particular evening and I couldn't resist making a few photos.

Great shot, very special, I really like the colors so warm that fade into each other.
A really wonderful backlight.

Gorgeous bands of golden tones that merge and dream in harmony, John! The little sanderling is feasting in a sea of liquid caramel. Beautifully observed and expertly captured. So much to enjoy!

Lovely effect with the bands of colors and the big pool of reflected color. Nice position for the Sanderling too, with the legs separated- gives a nice silhouette.
